Commission from Heeum - The Museum of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan

Artist Haein Cho creates a space for public discourse by addressing academic and social issues through animation. In this work, research materials and evidence from academia are transformed into conversations and representations involving animals, allowing audiences to discover for themselves the logical flaws in the arguments of historical revisionists.

Ordinary Oddity draws on the tradition of Aesop’s fables, in which animals convey wisdom, making a potentially heavy subject more engaging to observe. By taking the position of an observer, the audience is invited to consider and judge the subject from a more objective perspective.
